Tokyo Olympics: India Mens’ Hockey Team Beat Spain 3-0

Tokyo Olympics: Earlier, India suffered a huge loss against Australia in men’s hockey in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Now, India put behind the disappointment from their 1-7 defeat to Australia by showing a brilliant performance and a clinical win 3-0 against Spain. Goals from Rupinder Pal Singh and Simranjeet Singh gave India the win.

India has seen dominating for much of the game and managed the pressure whenever Spain tried to attack. India had the first chance with Simranjeet missing a chance in the eighth minute. Then Spain went on the attack and took several shots within the 12th minute but India managed to stay put and hit them on the counter. After this, in the 14th minute Simranjeet scored to make it 1-0.

India then received a penalty corner and Rupinder Pal Singh converted the fourth of them to help India go into the second quarter leading 2-0.

In the second quarter, Spain went on the attack but the Indians push back them and maintained their two-goal lead. PR Sreejesh was called into action in the 24th minute and led his troops strongly throughout the rest of the half as a frustrated Spain went into halftime trailing 2-0.

India came strongly in the third quarter and Spain managed to hold on and restricted India to score goals. They could not convert a PC towards the end of the quarter and Rupinder Pal Singh then scored in the fourth to extend their lead to three goals.
